Kailash Tours
Mt.Kailash at the height of 6,714 m is one of the highest mountains in western Tibet. For thousands of years the Kailash area has been held sacred by Hindus and Buddhists. It lies between the Himalayas and Karakurum ranges, and it is considered most auspicious to make a religious pilgrimage around Mt. Kailash, which is about 53 km circuit. It is believed that just a single circle around Mt. Kailash can remove sins of a lifetime. Buddhists indentify Kailash with the Mighty Mt. Sumeru, as the religious symbol to consciousness and enlightenment. Hindus considers it to be the Lord Shiva’s Throne.
The four most sacred rivers of the Indian sub-continent, the Indus, Sutei, Ganges and Yarlong Tsangpo begin from here. To travel for days on this remote plateau with the chance encounters of nomads herding their sheep or yaks is to be transformed into another way of life, to see and become part of such a devout pilgrimage as shown by pilgrims around MT. Kailash and lake Manasarovar is overwhelming and a life time experience.
